Pre-Order Details: Canada & EU

Lots of comments about Canada and EU pre-orders so we wanted to address them:

To our European fans – Our counterparts in EU say not to worry, your pre-orders will be announced shortly. In all honesty, each SCE territory has different market challenges and consumer trends. In the US, pre-orders are emphasized a lot earlier in the product marketing messaging cycle. On the other side of the coin, some countries don’t emphasize pre-orders as much (or at all). Also, Europe is especially tricky because there are so many different countries, and each country has their own pre-order programs - specific to their own retail partners and consumers. Then include “X” amount of business discussions, legal discussions, logistic issues, etc, add water, and then you have a pre-order campaign (or at least a quick snapshot of the pre-order process). In the end, it just takes time to execute – so please be patient.


To our Canadian fans – Apologies for forgetting about you – we didn’t have details until today, but we have good news and ‘gooder’ news. First the good news – there will be 2* pre-order campaigns in Canada. The ‘gooder’ news is that the 2* items are Kratos SackBoy and Nariko SackGirl.

So...regarding Kratos SackBoy @ Canada, he'll be waiting for you at your local EB Games & GameStop stores (north of the boarder).

I can't say how dissapoiunted I am that there is no LBP sac pouch in Canada. That hurts, it's the only one I really want! I know they will show up on ebay cuz theres enough people who would rather get 10 bucks back on the price of their game then have a little pouch. NOT ME, I WANT A POUCH. Oh well, that's life.

Fantastic news! I hope all the LBP pre-order goodies will be avaliable in Europe, I mean it's not like there will be a shortage of stockists wanting to sell arguably the most anticipated game of 2008, and the one which Sony believes will be a hardware mover. My only beef with this as a canadian is that I would have to go to EB games, one of the worst gaming store in the world. Also, there are none in my area, only a futureshop and a walmart, so even if I wouldn't boycott those dweebs, I can't get my hands on Kratos. oh well...

Yeah im not sure why they dont offer the same items everywhere but like the dev said, diffrent media markets have diffrent challenegs across the world, its nice to at least get somethin for the game. Us people from the US need to be thankful we have the ability to have multiple options.

My son drag me today at Gamestop were they have this big sign telling about pre-order LBP, Kratos and Sackboy toy is sweet. question I have, are the gift will be handed out when the game release? is there a collectors edition LBP?

Okay, so now I take back what I said about Sony not giving a damn about Europe. Thanks for remembering us Wink

HOWEVER, if the rumours concerning HDD importing are true, and that is no longer possible, then I have a reason to keep complaining. Come on MM! There are already people out there creating their own textures for the game, it's about time you give a definite answer about it. And, I sincerely hope that we get a positive answer, don't start with copyright issues again, Look at Youtube. It has copyright issues, but nonetheless it exists.

Sorry Ashitaka, they have announced that custom textures will be unavailable at launch, however they will be trying to include it later as DLC. Can't find where I read that sorry, I think a Sony employee (Sam) posted it on a playstation forum somewhere

hey with ebgames canada u can't pre-order of their site u have to resreve / pre-order and pick it up in store will u still get the goodie or do u have to pre-order from the american site and have it shiped to canada.. im confused

Go to EBGames in-store and pre-order it there, you will get the goodie either as you pre-order or when you pick up the game in october. I'm waiting till august 18th at least, that's the date on the US site that says you can pick up your voucher in-store, so maybe it's the same date for canada. Hope I'm being clear enough :S If not what I'm basically saying is go pre-order the game in-store after august 18th. (you might get the voucher right then and there, or you'll have to wait to pick it up when you actually buy the game.) there!

One question I have is. If I spend tons of Hours making a level, will we be able to protect it in order to conserve the original vision of the person who create it? or once we upload the level anyone can edit it?

of course your level is protected and not anyone can easily edit it. as fas as i know, everybody can download and play your level, and afterwards or before or whatever edit it and save it with another title, e.g. "BLINDMARK's improved level" if that person thinks, it's improved Smile

By that, do they mean they're giving a real 'teddy' SackBoy? Or is it just the costume as a DLC for the game? If it's an actual teddy, that would be so awesome.

Hey, i live in Canada and recently asked about the Kratos goodie. They said they didnt have it, and dont think they will. Is it because they havent released it? or is it just one of teh locations that wont.

If so, is their a way to get kratos DLC withough a pre-order?

I thought there were origonally 5 things to pre order?

Plus, how can we get the alternate outfit. I want both, but no offence I'm not buying 2 copies?

Will you be offering the second outfit for free or to buy at a later time?

P.S what happend to the sticker book, and the game pouch, and the guide?
