The SackBoy costume contest is off to a great start!  We’ve been astounded with the range of creations that have been submitted– from the simplest of designs to the crazy and wild.

Here are some of our current favorites:





For those of you who have submitted already, thanks for all the great creativity.  Remember, the three winning designs of each region (America, Europe and Japan) will be available to download FOR FREE from the PLAYSTATION® Store for use in the retail version of LittleBigPlanet.  To participate, you must submit to playstation_community_support@playstation.sony.com before Tuesday, September 30th 2008 at 11:59 PDT.  So don't delay!  

Be sure to check back often for future announcements.

I know the sheep one looks great and is drawn really well!!! but, i just dont see myself getting excited about being a sheep while im playing, the purple one is pretty good design. Hopefully everyone who has commented has seen what people have SHARED at Flickr...theres some good, bad, lack of effort and some ones that are to...um...lets just say not PG-13... but overall ALOT of great submissions so far!

I know who made the sheep, he was also one favourite at your LBP Wrap up so i think the sheep should win for europe!

The sheep and the native american sackboys need to be in Littlebigplanet. I like all of them but those two really fit in with the style of the game.

well I like all of them but how will the pixel one work I mean lbp is in a 2D world but the sack people are still 3D and pixels are 2D.

I think it would be better if the sheep had some sort of a nose, possibly tied on with a string. His face just looks so normal compared to the sheepy-ness of his outfit.

I dig the last 2 costumes especially the purple one, very creative.
And from what I saw theres already a classic knight outfit in the game, the one shown here is quite different (And I like it alot). Although the helmet is a bit lame.

Omg there completely testing the CERN large hadron collider the same day that little big planet comes out in the us, so im going to get lbp and then the worlds going to end. lol just kidding the chance of there being a black hole are 1 in 11,000,000,000 and they say these types of collisions happen all the time in nature.

Seriously guys keep up the good work, I would submit a design but I'm in the UK so... I can't Frown

I hope this doesn't apply to the beta as well as I bought the PS3 for Metal Gear Solid 4 and Little Big Planet, Tha's right MM I'm comparing your game to my personal best of the year so far Laughing.

I own a PS3,Xbox 360 and Wii by the way so that's no small feat ;P

Please let me into the beta I love platformers and co-op games and Garry's Mod! (Meh Garry's Mod has a creation part in it, wire mod is fun! xD).

Sorry If this comment stinks of "LET ME INTO BETA NOW!" But I seriously want to be in it and I'm going to buy this game hopefully but this will seal the deal.

I'm TRYING to remain optimistic that there will be a beta and that I will get in it by the end of this Friday as if this is really testing the server to see if they can handle it they are leaving it rather late, I mean the game's released NEXT MONTH!

If it is out by the end of today I shall be a happy bunny this weekend xD

IF I get in Tong, Otherwise I'm gonna have to spend my damn weekend WATCHING other people play te beta. LOL,

Come on MM get that beta out today so we can all get our slice of Little Big Planet action! xD

On another note I'm sad I didn't get in the Socom beta because I missed that ONE announcement and I probably won't get in the Resistance 2 beta because I'm in the UK.

I like the sheep, that would fit in LBP really well. And though I like the fourth design, evil Sackboys are just.. wrong. They're supposed to be cute!

@ Kiltin.. It looks kinda scary really :p

@ Quaint - Nice job with the sheep, looks awesome.

I also like the Indian one, looks pretty good. Someone has designed a skeleton sackboy at the playstation eu forums, looks sweet. You guys should check it out..

All the designs look great and good luck to everyone. Can't wait to play as some of these characters in the game..

I'm disappointed that mine is not up there, but I have 2 reasons why those up there are not gonna win, #1 they said that those are just some of their favorites, #2 Why would they put up the winner already? They are saving the winner for last, so obviously none of those will win. Sorry about that. Smile

"A really good idea"

Personally, I'm not much of an artist. But I think that I have a really good idea. Why not have Sack Boy / Girl be one of the three elements; i.e., Electricity, Fire or Ice? Tell me that wouldn't be really cool.

Forgive me if someone else has thought of this, but I am just getting out a quick idea that I thought would be really cool.
