LittleBigPlanet Beta Created Levels - You decide

With the LittleBigPlanet beta coming to a close on October 12th at 23:59 GMT, we'll be getting everything ready for the launch of the game. As many of you are doubtless aware, at present we are not planning to make shared creations from the beta test available in the full version of the game, however we are aware that a lot of time and effort has been put into what you've created so far.

With this in mind we're going to give you the choice! Whether you took part in the LittleBigPlanet beta test or not your opinion counts - would you rather that created levels and items from the beta test were available when the game launches, or would you rather we removed everything and the shared side of the game started from scratch? Vote in the LittleBigPoll (left column) before Monday October 13th, and we'll go with whichever option receives more votes!

Please bear in mind that what we're talking about here are levels that have been uploaded already, any save game data, offline creations or progress cannot be transferred into the full game.

Knowing that many hours of work was put into these amazing levels, It would be a shame to just wipe it all out. It would be nice to have extra content to download right when the game's launched.

i personally think is would be a BETTER IDEA to start from scratch, but i think all the people who out time and effort into there levels shouldn't have there work be deleted... but starting from scratch would remove all the bad levels... its a win lose situation... i think there should be a deal that if you level has over 10,000 plays or something it should stay posted... so that the good levels don't get lost... either or i'm voting NO because a clean slate is always good...

i say keep them i spent a good 5 hours on mine then 2 hours tuning the thing that sucks is i cant find my level out of the 10 cool level pages. but to be back on track it would be wrong to delete people who made professional levels such as construction site, littlebig colossus, and this one awesome god of war level i forget the name of it tho. They must of spent +24hrs makeing and fine tuning them. it wuld be wrong to get rid of them.

PLEASE KEEP THEM! I practically have a bond with my level, I spent over a WEEK of my spare time on it, please let us keep our levels. I spent so much time making it perfect and no one has even had a chance to tell me what they think of it yet, please keep them!

There's no point in starting from scratch. Bad levels will be removed but so will good ones and it'll only take an hour or two before bad levels are all over the place again.

Get rid of them. It will delete all the bad levels and the people that really liked the levels they made can rebuild them. After all the beta only had 50% of the content of the full game. Most likely those levels would show their age real quick.

It would be great if they persisted. Not just for my level (It's pretty simple), but there is some really creative and complex level out there and they deserve to stay on the servers.

I think you should keep the levels that were made during the beta period. I am not saying this just because I made a level and spent a whole lot of time just to make it work. I think it just makes since to get a jump start on the creative juices when the game comes out. The beta levels are a good creative foundation. Oh and does anyone who is on the beta know why my sackboy turned into a skeleton without me doing anything to change it?

I havent made any levels in the beta yet, but for other people it would be better if levels they create aren't deleted as a lot of effort has gone into them.

It's kind of hard to decide. On the one hand you have a lot of great quality levels people spent time making, and it would be a shame if they lost them. But on the other hand, there is probably a lot of "not so great" levels from people, so it may feel like added clutter when the actual game comes out. So whatever ends up happening is neither good or bad, both choices will have there positives and negatives.

Keep them. They dont hurt ne1. Its not like some1 is getting extra levels in an online multiplayers. this is good for every1. Esp. since there are some very nice levels that took weeks to create!
And that calculator that i use for my homework everyday! (lol)

A lot of the levels I've played are fantastic, and should be included when the full game comes out. It would also give the online part of the game a bit of a head start in terms of number levels one could play right away. Also, the increased amount of levels might also encourage others to build their own levels.

I think you should keep all the levels from the beta. Some people worked really hard and made excellent levels. I also think that our gamedata should be saved, because I have done the initial tutorials like 5 times and after a while they do get boring.

My only fear with keeping the beta levels is that they will obviously become the most popular ones, and fresh content (with items not available in beta) will be harder to find and play.

If it were up to me I would only transfer the levels that are worth transferring (maybe 30 or so levels). Everything else should start from scratch.

I think the beta levels should have a special mark on them like an * or somthing similar...that why they could stay and people would know that the level was made during the beta...saw a lot of the levels on youtube... gotta say, great job to all who made something, really hope i can play your level Oct 21 Smile

Hello dev ppls, been spending time on the beta, thank you for the opportunity. Keeping beta created levels due to user's time and effort would be great, but if they will not be avaialble to share for everyone, keeping them usable for the finished version offline and/or shared with spicific friends would work. put alot of work in them myself and would be uber pleased to keep them! :]

I think the levels that are the most hearted should remain or atleast have a vote for the levels that could stay. One of which is a level called Little Big Computer. That just blew my mind by Upsilandre

I kind of like "Stefilni" idea, everything else is a contest in the LBP community why not this. I think we should vote for the top 30 levels and that will stop the trash(like my level lol) from getting through.

First of all, the beta is impressive to say the least, second you HAVE to keep these levels for release, first we get more content at launch, second there are some really creative levels with great replay value already available, and third this might help newcomers understand the posibilities this amazing game provides to players around the world.
I got to hand it to Sony and Media Molecule, this game is better than I expected and we havent even seen anithing yet. Keep it up guys, great work!!!

even though its just a beta a lot of people put a lot of time and effort to create the levels that are available, if I had gotten in the beta and created a level I would surely want to keep them or else it feels like waisted time, I voted to keep but I don't think it was all that necessary considering a lot of beta testers think the same thing so I cant wait to play those awesome user made levels

There are some brilliant levels in the beta, and it would be a shame for all of those people that put in that hard work to have to start over.

I say KEEP THEM (besides, i haven't gotten to upload my level yet!).

Anyway, GREAT game. I don't think I've smiled this much while playing a video game in a long, long time (and I've been a gamer since 1985 and the NES launch!)

I'd say save the creations. It's not as if their being present grants anyone a horridly unfair advantage like retaining stats in an MMO game or such.

i say we keep the levels... but maybe as a section saying USER CREATED BETA LEVELS..... to tell the new people that its the levels that were created in the beta.... i think it will keep it fresh and still make us beta user happy at the same time..... or why not add it as some of the first DLC or something... idk how that will work but just throwing you guys some ideas..... i would be crushed if i lost my first level.... "PATASACKPON RACE" check it out guys still had no one play it.... but those i took back to my hub Tong

I'm taking part in the beta - and I say please *DON'T* wipe the beta levels.

Kotaku made a very good point about LBP not being an MMO.
No one is going to have an advantage if the beta levels stay.

Please don't wipe it!
