We're sure that most of you have heard by now that one of the background music tracks that was licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur'an.  We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologize for any offense this may have caused.  

We will begin shipping LittleBigPlanet to retail in North America the week of October 27th.

We understand this is unfortunate news for everybody, including us.  Know we will do whatever we can to get LittleBigPlanet in your hands as soon as possible.

pretty damn sure they are not scared of competition, this game will beat most of competition around with the features of this game.

Or better yet I saw that video of pre-sackboy/girl when you guys were starting this games development, that video was interesting Laughing

And sorry if your servers for the blog is getting slapped hard by tons of people complaining. You guys tried and even had a working solution, but Sony turned it into a big mess.

It's a delay all over, UK say's it will be released on November 14th (according to ign.com) and GameStop says that it'll be a Oct 27th date in the US. Not bad, but the issue for the delay is VERY controversial. Well, we've been waiting, a littlebitlonger isn't that bad. It hurts us fans though, like a bullet to the leg. =*(

*** we should all cancel our pre-orders and ALL wait a week to buy the game. How would they like that launch?? I understand pushing out the release a few months ago but the game is sitting in warehouses now. They can take that astronaut outfit and shove it where the sun don't shine.

I am really looking forward to the game, but I am quite disappointed about the delay. I understand that things happen and delays are sometimes unavoidable, but this issue would be easily fixed by a downloadable patch or by sending a new disk to those with no internet access. There is no reason why this issue should delay the release of the game. I hope you are considering releasing a playable demo in the meantime - it would certainly make a big difference in how most fans react to the added wait for the game.

On there front page, there is an image saying 'thanks sony' thanks for what? Delaying the game weeks after its scheduled release date? Sony could have just released a patch and not waste the time and money on replacing the discs.

What happens if someone else gets offended by the game - are you going to come to my house and take it back?

I agree that this does suck, but if it has any possibility of offending anyone, Sony and Mm could get sued. I am upset that I won't get the game for a week later, but I understand that it is better to take the song off. Plus, this wait just makes the suspicions and expectations rise for all of us who have pre-ordered it!!

I am deeply offended by Sony pandering to the fear of offending people who believe in fairytales.... over a song already published, that no person has yet objected to.

And even if someone did object on religious grounds, it should not be an issue. It should not be reason to pull 500,000 copies of a game. The sheer waste of it all. For no reason.

Shame. Shame on Sony, and shame on Media Molecule for 'apologizing for any offense'. Cowards.

Media Molecule should be openly outraged at Sony, and Sony should not be supplicating like some Dhimmi at the feet of religious fanatics.

I am disgusted and appalled at the both of you. Shame.

I think that it's a real pity that the fear of reaction to a two-year old song causes a delay and unnecessary controversy to this wonderful, sweet game. As well as the expense and environmental impact of shipping back all the discs and scrapping them. What's wrong with a sticker applied to the front of the case with the words " No offence was intended to any group by the inclusion of the song".
And then another sticker saying, "Please take your molotov cocktails and swords to this house in Mali where the original artist lives. Have a nice afterlife"
Since when is a sincere apology not enough? Ok, mine wasn't very sincere, but the proper sticker would be.

calm down people, its just a minor delay, not like Prototype or inFAMOUS [both of which got HUGE delays]. Plus the issue was minor; yea they could've fixed it with a patch, but what Sony did was better off, now they have a week more to double check the game for bugs and glitches, and it gets better competition than Fable 2, FALLOUT 3!! both will be in my home by the end of that week. But yea, a demo would be nice, because us preorderers have just been hit hard.

what a shame that a game be pushed back because of somthin this retarded, oh no theres a couple of words in a song!!! if they arent offensive to the general public then a delay is not needed imo if people can't listen to the lyrics of a song while playing a video game in some backcountry neck of the world then it shouldn't be sold there..nor should sony even care about 1% of sales

for me i don't care if it gets delayed till the 27th 'cause i'm grounded! i was gonna be grounded on the 21st anyways. but it still sucks 'cause most everyone else will get to play it before me. and worse yet i will have the game (since i pre-ordered) but yet i can't play it! oh well. (freakin' lucky people i can't play it until the 10th of next month.)

Well, there were pre-orderers for Prince of Persia as well, and those people had a bigger delay than this [Dec 2nd release from a Nov 14 release] and this was BEFORE the free limited edition upgrade [which apparently was the apology gift from Ubisoft to the Preorderers] so yea, the Preorderers should get something like that [not exactly that, but something similar (coughcostumecough) for the minor delay.

Not the beta, the beta will END eventually, a demo might come out, but no beta, that would be totally pointless. We need something that will last [costume/level/creator tool] something exclusive that will compensate the pre-orders for the wait.
