i love how i spent about 20 hours on a level, then i publish it and it falls off the face of the earth. it only was played 26 times and people tagged it as difficult and hectic. sorry it isnt a run to the right, jump over a barrel and thats all kinda level. if this is how the game will be then ill be selling my copy soon if anyone wants it

Will there be video upload directly from lbp? Please mm. I think user content like machinima etc help promote a game(look at a halo) . I hope mm implement this.

Am sure alot of people don't upload videos on youtube for the same reason....(look at where it is) Anyway, my point, its really hard to get plays. Try advertising your site to friends. If the game is good they'll spread the word.

I have every item in the game, even the Dragon Costume...wait actually im still missing a couple...lol got to get those. The Dragon Costume is my favorite and is really hard to get so im not just going to tell you where to get it but i will tell you that it is very far in the game and requires a lot of man power ( :

I think the idea of a Blueprint Room is awesome. It'll help a lot. You know what might make it better? If we had the ability to upload our game save (see Criterion.com with their Burnout Paradise game), which will then allow the Blueprint Room to have all the stuff (including community stuff and stuff we've created) we've collected... just a thought.

Criticism:

Workshop room:
1. There are too many irrelevant videos. Admittedly, it already looks like most have been removed (the current newest ID is 120 and there are 73 in total), but even still, those were videos completely unrelated in nature. Though the remaining continue to be LBP-related, they are, for the most part, not "workshop" in nature. Instead they simply preview gameplay or show off user levels whose creators are just trying to get more attention (there are even some of the story mode levels). After all, when you add a workshop, the caption reads, "Spread your good ideas around smarty pants. Teach others how to create levels with razzle dazzle or how to tackle challenges of amazing feats." It doesn't say, "Show off your cool levels." Granted, there are tags that will help separate the kinds of videos available (and there is even a gameplay footage tag), but even these are author selected and can be anything the content provider chooses. Either way, I think maybe the term "workshop" is inappropriate, or there needs to be some additional moderation on what is appropriate for that section. But don't get me wrong; I think gameplay footage is great and always fun to see. I just don't think it's "workshop" material. (And yes, I know the TOS explicitly points out you cannot guarantee the quality of UGC yada yada yada)

2. I also think it's too easy to include content that is not yours. Not that it's entirely baf, but I think there should be a field that indicates whether or not a) the video is yours (which maybe should always be a yes?) and b) whether or not what you're seeing on the screen was created by the content provider. In other words, I might show a video I made in which case I would identify the content as being of my creation. But maybe I also just want to show off how awesome I did in a popular level created by someone else. At that point I would indicate that I was not the author of the level seen in the video.

Inspiration room:
1. This gets confusing with inspriations and contributions. Someone's inspiration can be easily overrun by someone else's contribution if that first inspiration included no image. Instead, the first contribution is displayed (which could potentially be unrelated, throwing off the whole idea).

2. This seems like its asking for trouble in terms of copyright. But I guess that's not really for users to be concerned with, right? We'll let you worry about that.

Blueprint room:
1. No vertical

2. Very limited object set

3. No drawing capabilities as seen in the game (click and drag to draw).

4. Kludgy instructions for getting bitmap images of the map (porting to AS3 would allow native support to save as JPEG/PNG)

5. PDF tips aren't cross-platform

6. Selections don't last long, which can make using the bring to front button a race.

7. Did I mention the object set was limited?

Sticker Room:
This seems mostly pointless. You can only have one design and all you can do is print it? No one else can even see your sticker room if they wanted to? The stickers available aren't even that exensive. This just seems like a rehash of the old site's cute-but-without-much-purpose header.

General:
1. There should be a voting system similar to the comments for the content. It's especially nice for videos when you can see whether or not it's worth it to sit through the whole thing. Maybe this can be taken from Youtube? (not sure if they have the APIs for setting these as well or not).

2. Viewer-based tags. As mentioned before, only the content providers can specify tags. I think it would be more appropriate if viewers could do so instead or in addition to.

3. AJAX Fail. You're not using hashes in your page links meaning once you click on an item (workshop or inspiration) your back button takes you back to the first page. I'd prefer a html-based paging system anyway, being able to link back to a certain page if I wanted to (or share it with a friend).

4. Forums are only accessible from the drop-down menu in the header. This is not a good design and can suffer from discoverability

5. Where the heck is the littlebigplanet.com/en_US/ link now? It was bad enough that selecting EN from littlebigplanet.com brought you here before, but now its even worse. littlebigplanet.com should target users looking to find more information about the game. littlebigworkshop should target users that already have and want to expand on their use of a game. Someone looking for more information about LBP going to littlebigplanet.com should absolutely not be redirected to littlebigworkshop.com.

Overall:
Integration with PSN/LBP is weak. Since we're tied into our user accounts, a heck of a lot more information should be pulled in from PSN including stats, level information, hearts and all that jazz. Probably the best example of online integration with a game is bungie.net with Halo 3 - and this being a FPS, a game not so much oriented towards the internet and sharing (when LPB is very much so). I was expecting a lot more from LBW, and maybe the best is yet to come, but for now it mostly just seems like an aggregator for videos and images with a couple of flash toys (blueprint, stickers) to kind of, but not really, add some additional weight to the site.

Yeah, you can't use the CODE more than once, BUT - if you give your log-in-ID (Your email) and password to someone, he can create a new user at his PS3, choose to use an existing account and log in with the information he got from you. Then he can go to your download-list, and download everything you have ever dowloaded before. (You can dowload the sam thing from download-list FIVE TIMES)..

INSTRUCTIONS/FAQ ON GAME SHARING

For the "sender":

1. Purchase and download a game from the Playstation Store
2. Go to account management for the account and delete the billing information from your personal information if the PS3 saved your credit card info
3. Change your password temporarily for the share
4. Give login info (email address and password) to the receiver
5. When the share is completed, change the password


For the "receiver":

1. In the PS3 XMB menu, add a new user account on your PS3 and sign in to it
2. Select the network on the XMB and create an existing Playstation Network account
3. Use the login information given from the "sender" to create the existing account
4. Login into the account
5. Enter into the Playstation store
6. Click on "Download List" on the upper right near the person's userID and select the game you wish to download and hit download
7. After game is downloaded, notify the "sender" that the download is complete so they can change the password to the account
8. Enjoy!




Q/A:

Q: Should I worry about misuse for my account?
A: If you taken the steps to delete your credit card/billing information and changed your password temporary, it should be safe. If you're paranoid about someone stealing your account, only share with people that you really, really trust

Q: Can't I just make a sub-account and use that to share the games?
A: Not sure if this is allowed, but someone could try and report the results

Q: I just received the game from the sender and the game won't play, help!
A: In order to play the game on your PS3, the game must be activated AND the user account that was used to download the game must stay on your PS3. For example, say you created user account "User1" on your local Playstation 3 and you downloaded a full version of Lemmings. After you download the game, you MUST keep "User1" on your Playstation 3 in order for the game to run on your PS3. If you somehow delete the user account, you must relogin with the sender's account and redownload the game. If the game is still on your HDD, simply redownload then cancel to re-authorize the game.

Q: Do I have to login with the sender's account to play the game?
A: No, it just needs to be authorized on your PS3. You can play the game using your account thereafter. Just do not delete the user account as mentioned above or else the game will be locked out.

Q: I'm trying to download the game from the Playstation store but it is not appearing in the store. Where is it?
A: Games that are purchased disappear from the store. You have to download the game going through the "Download List" screen on the upper right of the Playstation Store.

Q: How many times can I share a game?
A: The store says you can share up to 5 different Playstation 3's.

Im with JayJacobK, an uber awesome Sackboy costume would rock!
Maybe a monkey in a spandex jumpsuit? Just an idea :p
Or, to expand on the idea, maybe we could get new costumes the more we contribute to the site. For example, if we make 5 contributions we get a new pair of glasses or something but if we make 20 contributions and 10 workshops or whatever we get an entire outfit. It could work as levels, contributions of any kind level up your LBW ID and then as you level up, Mm sends you codes for more stuff. Just a thought.

RIGHT NOW IM REALLY ****** OFF AT MEDIA MOLECULE.
ONE OF MY BEST LEVELS WAS DELETED TODAY. IT WAS MY LEVEL WITH THE MOST PLAYS AND IT GOT ME A TROPHY. IT WAS CALLED LittleBigPS3! AND IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO BUILD. ALSO IT WAS ONE I BUILT IN THE BETA!! THATS RIGHT THE BETA!
I SPENT ABOUT 8-12 HOURS ON IT AND IF IT DOESN'T GET PUT BACK UP ON THE SERVER I'M NOT PLAYING LBP ANYMORE.

Hey guys not to be a begger, but i preorderd lbp and didnt get **** for it. I mean i didnt pre-order the game just to get extra stuff but it would have been nice. spacesuit and pumpkin head are up on psn now. no first week tshirt tho. does anyone have the problem with things that are glued down shifting randomly while building? or things coming unglued by themselves? its an annoying problem ive been having but other than that this game is incredible!

Well sometimes if you unglue an item that is glued to other items, they all come unglued for some reason, its rare but it happens. just rewind and try again. Also, if u have a glued item, and you start drawing with object, and that object connects with the glued item, that item will often come unglued. so just keep those in mind.

Just take lil while to doodle and mess around, so you get a good understanding of what you can and cannot do, and lil tips that might help u later.
