I tried mapping stuff out on paper before, and imo it's much easier to just do it in game since with paper you don't know if it's going to do what you expect.

The in-game camera thing would be better if I could actually take a picture without getting the "Profile too large" message...

I am wondering why there is more news about LBP on the ps blog than there is here.

Could you answer my question in the next "SACK IT TO ME"?
When are you going to fix the no-3rd-party-controllers-bug? I want to play with my friends. Frown

I have a question I have not seen asked or answered:
I love the included story levels that came with the game. Did the developers use the in-game creation tools exclusively to make these or did they have access to internal Mm assets?
It took me forever to figure out a way to make a set of pull away stairs like in the first temple level. I could see how they made it just not how to stick it all together. Finally with a little cloning and depth finagling I was able to get the runners to fit into the tracks.

@HDSnoopy, I think they made a few things that are impossible for others to make in their levels. For example, the tree with the bouncy top and the flag that blows around in the wind.

Yea, I figure their level designers sort of have an "in" with the programers to get a little extra somthin' somthin' you know. There seems to be a bit of interest in this question so I started a thread in workshop: http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/lbp/board/message?bo

I would love to hear from the wonder workers at Mm to see what they can say!

This might have been helpful during LBC1-- being so busy with work drains your creativity, how can you expect to win a contest without that? The crappiest thing is that the prize is limited to 5 people.

First off I think that LBP is probably the best game ever developed. That being said. I think the biggest flaw is forcing people to buy the PS Eye to create their own pictures. The developers could just have easily made it so that users could pull a picture that is loaded on the HDD and create a sticker with that image.

To Anyone:

Is there any news of DLC in the form of new playable levels made by Mm? I like the public's creations, but nothing beats the levels that came on the disc...in my opinion. Any info would be muchas gracias.

The level that I built "cavemania" I mapped it out on graph paper and then used the grid to be as precise as I could (I'm a little OCD). It worked great for me. My 9 year old daughter came up to me the other day and handed me a little 5 x7 piece of paper and said "Dad, check out my LittleBigPlanet Level" it brought a tear to my eye. I am planing on building it with her. That is one of the best things about this game is anyone with any kind of imagination and bring it to life in LBP. Look up my level and let me know what you think. psn Gumbie7 - and the level name again is cavemania. Enjoy!

HD Snoopy. The game story mode was created extirely with the same tools you have. The felt tree does not count as a seperate creation, since that was one of their first ideas, and all the felt matierial were going to have same properties. (the bouncyness) watch the first released video, of them running around, you will notice all felt is bouncy and similar to the felt tree. My guess is they changed all the material to todays one, but left the tree as a treat cause they liked it.

The stairs were easily made. They sit on glass. If u look closely on their design, they used thin glass in the back to use as a guide to keep the stairs in place, and to have them slide out easy. Its all made using in game engine, one advantage they have, is a staff of 50 people coming up with ideas, endless time, and 4 people working on it at once, perfecting it.

I have made things in my levels that i have not seen anywhere else yet, and it was easy. Check out my levels - just search for Swav331

I'd like to know if any of the developers have made additional levels, and how to find them. I find the user levels ok, but it's hard to find good ones, and I don't want to have to search through a bunch of garbage levels just to find those really noteworthy ones. Also user levels, even the best ones seem to have some issues (I assume due to differences in the developer tools). i.e. you are on a vehicle and don't make it to destination, you respawn at the begining, and the vehicle does not respawn with you, like it would on one of the game levels. I hope more actual levels will be created and available as DLC. And if there is a way to respawn stuff like in the game levels, please do share with us what to do Smile

Also your interview mentions that building a level with others can be good. This is also something I had expected and looked forward to about the game. But I am unable to have anyone join me when I am creating a level so that we can work together and create something even better. Will there be an update to allow this. This feature is even something I would pay for as DLC.
