Greetings LBP friends.  If you have been keeping up with the internets or our Blog you should know that SackBoy has been seen puttering around all over these days.  Whether he's in England winning awards for Media Molecule at the BAFTA or swinging clubs in other games, you'll never know when you are going to see him next.  Now we know its been all quiet on the DLC front lately, but since all good things come to those who wait, here are the details on where SackBoy is going to be next!

He's at Kohls!

 

 

 

If you checked out last week's post, you saw the black LBP shirt that is now sold out at Hot Topic except for the larger sizes.  But fear not, as they re-stock there is another shirt available at your local Kohl's if you want something on the lighter side.  Hopefully more LBP gear to come!


On March 17th he visits IRELAND!


St. Patrick's Day costume : FREE (available for one week only) 
If you want to avoid the "pinch" and get luck on you side, be sure to visit the store between March 17th to the 24th so you can celebrate St. Patty's day LBP style.


On March 19th he invades HELGHAN!


Killzone Mini-pack : $2.99
The ISA isn't the only one invading Helghan!  With both Sev and Helghast costumes along with 32 KZ-themed stickers this mini-pack brings the fight against the Helghast to LittleBigPlanet.

On March 26 he hits BUZZ!



Buzz! Mini-Pack : $1.99
SackBoy is about the get Buzzed! as he sports the costume of PlayStation's most famous game show host and we get cool stickers to Buzz-ify our levels.  Take that Trebeck!

On April 2, he marches on to PATAPON!


Patapon Costume : $1.99
As mentioned on the Pata-Post a few weeks ago, Pata-Fans can celebrate the approach of Patapon 2 (Patapon 2 tag) with this costume including a selection of weapon options.

On April 9, he returns to HEAVENLY SWORD!



Heavenly Sword Mini-pack : $2.99

Thats some pretty sick news, but DAMN, i really want littlebigplanet shirts to come to Canada. Please tell me you are attempting to get littlebigplanet shirts into NorthAmerica, ill even stop by the US for a shirt if they don't come to Canada.

This is a decent bit of content but im a little bit dissapointed that its been 3 weeks since we have had anything new and all we get is a few costumes oh well! But Pear Bear why dont you just got to hottopic.com and order the shirt from there thats what i would do if i were you! MM i sure hope that you are going to have some kind of costume pack for easter that would be so unfair if you didn't since you have done every other holiday imaginable Easter deserves some sackboy love too!! And you didn't put any Easter content up for that week but I am still hopeful!! Please dont dissapoint me like you have these last 3 weeks!!!

Im also a little bit upset that those who got nariko already have to pay the full price of 3 dollars if they want the KAI costume thats a little unfair dont you think?? I mean you got rid of the exclusive costumes and now if we want one of the costumes we have to buy the whole pack??? Why did you do that MM you could easily release just the KAI costume for 1.99 or .99 i really could care less about the stickers!!

@Chaosmaster: I don't think they'll make you buy Nariko to get Kai. They didn't do it with Kratos.

Also, when my brother and I were spitballing Sackboy costume ideas, Patapon and Echochrome were first to come to my mind... I'll be wanting Patapon. I could use that bow in custom costumes. Laughing

And BTW, I'm pretty bummed about this update. The only thing I want in the Lepracaun Hat and the Helghast costume.

It bugs me how everyone always complains about this site not having up-to-date news, when theres a bunch of other places they could check. littlebigplanetoid.com has ALL the latest news as they get it. Theres a new post almost everyday. I'm not saying I don't like this site, I'm just tired of people complaining when all the information is right in front of they're faces.

LBP most wanted content(what ive seen)
1.Level Packs
2.New Costumes(obvious)
3.New materials/effects(water, wind, (i want goo))
4.New camera system
5.Online Create Mode(by the way are there any updates on this subject?)

now that they have new costumes set up for the next couple of weeks they have more options of what they can do next. If we give them a little time a level pack will surely come out eventually. maybe it will be with the sephiroth or spiderman costume. keep up the posts for new levels and Mm will deliver.

We need a sword that we can swing at baddies that has a switch system so u can make projectile objects that can be deflected by the sword and being able to throw it would be nice and use it while on the jetpack. Also rockets should be able to change boost power in intervals so we can make cooler floating islands.

What's really funny is that no one at Hot Topic nor at Kohl's has any clue about these two shirts!!! Hot Topic appears to only carry it online, and the Store Managers at 4 different Kohl's have no clue what I'm talking about. So yeah, check kohls.com or whatever? NO LUCK, nothing on there at all about LBP!!!

I know what your talking about. I wanted to get one, so I went to Kohls and I went online.Absolutely no sight of them.The only place they have them is the one online and all other sizes are sold out except the 2XL. I wish they were at more places then just the two. I really want me a Little Big Planet t shirt.Heck id like them both.

the only complaints so far i have with Mm:

1.expensive DLC:
true they aren't forcing me to buy it, but why else would they sell it if they didn't to be honest i understand the pricing and i would love to contirbute to help them in further projects, but some of the content is too much, all i can ask is lower it by about a dollar minimum and i'll be happy

2.false advertising:
some of us feel the pain from this, our levels moderated just because of copyright infringement and so on, which i understand but to be honest i don't at the same time. i mean why can't i make a final fantasy 7 level in a game where it was thought you COULD DO ANYTHING. my dreams have been shattered and now i can almost guarantee any attempts at cool Final Fantasy levels or anything from other games will not even begin because of moderation, i mean i understand sexual content in levels and such, but come on Mm, this game was supposed to let us do ANYTHING. if you have a problem with sexual content just make the game integrate with the parental controls in the PS3 to block those underaged from playing. i can understand and i wouldnt want to play a stage with a ***** in it, but if this game is supposed to let me do ANYTHING i want then why not let me? and also i understand copyright completely but why does it have to affect creation of stages? isnt there a way besides PARODIES and SPOOFS that we can make duplicates of great games and movies without our levels being modded? idk what else to say but i hope Mm see this and decides to do something about it


also before i go:
I GAVE UP ON THE 1WEEK T-SHIRT, IT'S BEEN HOW LONG? the shirt isn't even worth it anymore

and i'm still waiting on sephiroth and it BETTER BE A FF7 LEVEL AND COSTUME PACK - because this is taking too long for it not to have levels and costumes like the MGS pack

maybe im having trouble understanding, but levels shouldn't be moderated unless they r posted online. that kind of goes against u saying that it shattered ur dreams. I know...u want to show off online.....everyone does.You CAN do anything. but you just cant POST anything online. u can make a level from a game. u just cant post it.
also, r u really saying that a game that has a childish theme to it (im not saying LBP is just for little kids.) should have parental controls preventing kids from playing it?

I understand your frustration. but watch what you say when you r venting your frustrations online. it may come out really wrong.

and like i said in a previous post keep the posts coming asking for new levels and Mm will deliver.

wheres the new challenge?

why arent there any level packs?

since there are NOT any level packs, why did it take so long? (they delayed in the beginning of the year to line up the dlc for the year, right?)

yea, i know some of you are gonna yell at me and tell me to stop complaining, but there are just too many disappointments not to be upset. media molecule has done a good job so far, but lately ive been frustrated with them.

-_- either look at previous posts or look at the message Mm had at the top. many of their developers were at multiple game award ceremonies.
so they didnt have many people there to work on costumes or levels. now they are done with those, so they are able to make more dlc. hence all of the upcoming costumes.

Cool, but there still isn't enough FREE costumes... Like I don't know, clothes that aren't related to holidays? T-Shirts or Pants or Gloves or Hats or anything that can be added to a Sackperson without having to be a holiday costume! You know, stripped T-Shirts, more Mini-Sackpeople colours, or even more Sackperson material!

locoroco costumes are available. i have them myself now. im in the U.S. if that matters.

@all the peeps whinning
like psychoteletubby7 said, "just let Mm know your ideas and they will deliver". (and be nice about it) All those lvls in the lvl packs take time they realy do. and with all the award ceremonies they are on the road and not at the office. since they are back now the work will flow again. moderation is undercontrol so we can drop that. just name ur lvl Final Sackboy Fantisy and do a couple tweaks if u have to. its not that big of a deal. besides be creative, make your own level dont use other game studios ideas. but to be on the whinners side Wink there is one thing that Mm realy bummed me out on and it was the Online Create aspect of the game. The game has been out for about 5 months and some change now and still no Online Create. if u ask me that is one of the biggest reasons why i bought this great game. without that alot of drive is lost to make lvls. its not as fun by yourself. but other then that Mm is doing a great job busting there asses to make ALL of us happy at the SAME time. THE END!!

so basically for the Nariko costume DLC.

For those that all pre-ordered from BestBuy and got F'ed over since Best Buy received their "revised" copies LATE you have to pay the full price to get the Nariko AGAIN in order to get Kai + stickers. While Game Stop pre-orders that got Kratos got the Other Chars + Stickers from beginning at no extra charge... nice sales strategy...

I'll probably buy it but damn that's pretty F'ed up... From next time be nice and tell us these things ahead of time please, so I don't have to go through all the crap I went through to get Nariko by Bi****ing at Best Buy customer service for almost 1 week...

I would be pretty angry but wasnt the Minotaur/Medusa/Sticker pack $2.99, and then Kratos was $1.99. Now your telling me that your angry because their putting two costumes and stickers in one full pack for $2.99 rather than splitting it up as $1.99 and $2.99. Im sorry but if your little rant takes effect and we have to pay more because your angry that people are getting a deal and you don't see it... then thats pathetic.

that is the best idea I've ever heard since the idea of television GOO!! in LITTLE BIG PLANET THAT'S ONE OF THE BEST THINGS IVE EVER HEARD CAN YOU IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES MAN!!! i mean come on we could make pits of goo where you slowly sink in (making them something you want to avoid) ,but then you could also use goo as say a secret passage to a lower level.. so many great things Bravo psycho bravo good idea.

@most of the people complaining that their favorite DLC's cost money

ok now listen up people Since patapon, kill zone, M.G.S, street fighter, god of war, Heavenly sword, Buzz, future DLCs and the sephiroth pack. THOSE ALL cost money because they are not original ideas it cost money to make them it cost's money to get the copyright approval and the only FREE dlcs will be ORIGINAL ideas such as holiday costumes, Contest winnings and, MM's ideas. If you as a consumer didn't see these prices coming then there is a major problem with how you guys are thinking, also you may be wondering these prices are pretty much standard i think there fair two i mean i only bought two $20 ps3 cards and i have all the DLC (except the valentines day) Also on MM's behalf i figured that as soon as they released there level pack(s) then people would just hassle them for more and better ones if you ask me all this quarreling is unnecessary and if your going to hassle them this much about it better not, they have not released it at all i mean put yourselves in their position you've just made something quite great and yet those who've accepted it throw it aside and just ask for more, for better, and to give them so little time i mean come on its only been a a couple weeks or months since MGS be patient i mean jeez..

oh! i actually think what ur describing is water. Many people have been asking for water which i describe as the opposite of poison gas. sackboy can go through it but objects can't.
I want Goo to be a material that "grabs" sackboy when he touches it. then it would dissolve using switches like the dissolve material. Imagine sackboy stuck in a spider web. it could make interesting traps. ( i would want the person who made the dead space lvl to use this so he could make enemies for that lvl. like the giant arm thing that grabs you and pulls you into a hole.)

also you are right about the dlc. I think the prices are fair. and people shouldn't just buy ALL of the dlc if they're going to complain about the price. if you dont like it, dont buy it. like the valentines pack. i didnt like it so i saved myself the 2 or 3$ it costs to buy it and saved it for the upcoming dlc.

i think what demonic is trying to say is that water could be like u would slowly sink but ucan jump. I mean goo would probably just trap u, while water u could get out of unless its moving (i.e.u are in it then a hole opens and ur sucked down).

wait.... thats what i just said. water, you can move around in. I just think it would be cool if objects couldnt pass through it so you could build with it like any other material. goo traps sackboy so if u put, say, a little of the goo on the end of an arm. the arm touches sackboy, he gets trapped in the goo, and the arm lifts him somewhere.

if ur saying that it should b able to change shape, then dont get ur hopes up. it would require a LOT of work on the developers part.

The only things I would pay for in LittleBigStore are:
-New clothes/Sackperson materials (T-Shirts or Sackpeople toys or hats or things like that Laughing)
-Metal Gear Solid Pack (Need it for trophies :/)
-All in one DLC Costumes (all the ones that were published for limited times, so it would allow many more people to have more custom stuff)

Probably no one is gonna care about what I just wrote, but I still think we don't need that much "Other games" or "Special Days" in expensive packs...

Some of us pre-ordered and didn't get the pre-order codes we were promised. I went round and round with Best Buy regarding the Nariko outfit promo code before they finally said "Corporate isn't going to send us any more codes. At All".

Nice. THIS is how you treat customers?!?!

Considering that inherent in the pre-order is the PROMISE of delivery of the Nariko code, yes, I feel a little burned. I played by the rules, I did what they asked (even returned the "bad language" version of LBP) and STILL didn't receive the promotion code.

I AM glad that I am able to at least purchase it. At least I'm guaranteed to get it this time.

well i think MM could make water change shape. they did make paint and it would not be very accurate to physics if water just floated there.

I think the prices for the content are fair as well except for the nariko pack that is the only thing other than MM postponing the content that has really frustrated me! However if they do not make an Easter costume or Pack I will be even more frustrated it would be so unfair since they have done every other holiday!!

Sackboy needs some Easter love MM im hoping you give him some!! Please don't skip Easter one of the most important holidays there is other than Christmas if your Christian of course lol. Make sackboy an easter bunny costume with a basket of colored eggs and everything!! If you guys like this idea plz rate thanks!!

I reallly really want to play with a friend at my house using two headsets.......cmon ps3, of course we need to headsets..player two can't hear anything and other people hear me talkin to my friend and it makes the games less enjoyable. Now make me happy and give me a crown, since I spent an extra 30 bux on another headset to find out I cant even use it.....

1) its my birthday, horray happy birthday to me
2) @sk8kid4 - where did you get your shirt, and which part of canada do you live in?
3) Its not even easter yet so they still need to come up with a costume or themed pack of stickers, so just calm down for a bit
4) @spun-dae78 - that really sucks that you can't use it, but when i have a friend over i usually just let him fool around with it and scream out funny words to anger people ;P
5) Isn't March break the greatest?

I still say making water change shape would be too hard. the paint balls don't change shape depending on where it is. it has three positions.
normal -- O
in motion -- (//////)
and when it hits the ground -- ________

this is different from making it change shape to ANY form.

besides if it was in a block like form, although it would be a bit strange, you could have walls of water that you could pass through. plus, the container holding the water would have to be enclosed except for the top if it could change shape. yes i did read the post about using switches to eventually make a hole, but it could be so much simpler just to have it like all of the other materials. and i dont want a material that only gives me the same effects of a jetpack.

hAVING WATER STAY THE SAME WOULD BE UNREALISTIC and besides if it was really hard to make, they could release it with levels and give it a high price tag

-Is the poison gas realistic. last time i checked it wasn't (stays shape but allows it to b used easier and in different ways) B^)

-it doesn't need to be realistic. it just has to add a new way to make lvls

-something that hard to make would end up in a LBP2 instead of an add on

-i still don't see how it would b different than a jetpack.

-if u can come up with a good reason y water would b different, then i'll agree with you(besides the point that it is a material that can change shape)

water u would have 3 extra jumps than normal and might have current (would push sackboy without moving) and u could change its color. I guess I do agree water changing shape wouldnt work.

-I do like the idea of a current. that would really separate it from jetpacks. i've seen many other people ask for it(mostly wind but i think water makes more sense & would b easier).

I know I'm not really in this conversation but sackboy could react with water like mario reacts with water (he sinks to the bottom unless you tap the jump button to swim).

Um, in this post it says the Killzone pack is out March 19th, Today in other words, thing is, only my friends in UK (Japan, and every where else in the world) can buy it, as for me and my friends in the US were STILL waiting, it's already almost 4 PM here, just whats taking so long dang long??? seriously, I don't wanna sound like a jerk, but I'm really sick of waiting for something that should have been out a LONG time ago :/

i feel a great vibe of creativity in this general topic regarding the water-goo, i would like to say that yes i was talking about water earlier now im kinda wondering why i put goo? ,but i do believe that if water does end up in the game the key features would be this,

-water being a liquid object only containable through a base- meaning, if they do make water there would be no need for it to be realistic because it can only be held in a Container as too say you make a box and put water in it... that water isn't going to go anywhere,

- if water is being created the most REALISTIC. it could get would be the use of it being movable take the -gas- for example it is not moving and there does appears to be some sort of wind causing it to sort of wish about ,but never actually going anywhere notice how it just floats in mid-air without rising or lowering.

- personally the best thing you could really use water for would be these 3 thing
1. Underwater levels.
2. The creation and practical use of the Speed boat
and lastly my Favorite Ice how graet would it be if your running and fall into water and Freeze or for the fun and games in Ice skating or just slipping about. to this time the Ice we know and love in the tundra is just Glass' this is true its slipper oh its fun for racing yes, yes but to gain experience in being able to freeze animated objects i would like to make a level like that.

honestly and im not against the idea i just think their is no neccesary reason to obtain water. im not trying to discourage you either ,but i want some reasons on why, what, where would we use or need it. rate my comment

ive been thinking about the water thing for a long time now too
moreso over the fact that the game would be a much more realistic environment with in-game real-time elements like water fire and wind (much like a game called lost winds off the wii shop channel where the water can be moved and manipulated as well as wind and fire)
when we sackpeople are in a level, it feels like were in an effing playhouse because there is nothing realistic happening in the game
AND the pod sucks too
it would be better if it had a downstairs to it but thats like IMPOSSIBLE (i think)
imagine if the "downstairs" was pretty much the last page of the costume popit area
where you can hop in a machine to clean your costumes and save you costumes on a shelf on display
i was just thinking
lol

my one suggestion is for sackboy to stay the hell still when i try and put decorations/stickers on him. He always has to breathe and move around, like come on sackboy, just stop breathing for a couple of seconds lol.

-i understand what u mean. and i've actually been trying to get more ideas on what water could do. like the posts between me and googl123

-a lot of people in posts say that they agree that water should not be realistic( it retains the shape u create it as).

-if u look in some of the past quotes, we have been adding different ideas. The best idea i've seen for it is to b able to give it a current. this could also act as "wind" that pushes sackboy. my definition of the water is the opposite of poison gas. sack boy can pass through it but objects cant.

-LBP is supposed to look like a playhouse. cardboard cut-out walls and a doll (no offence to sackboy) for a main character. that is exactly the type of mood Mm was trying to create.

-i really like your idea of having your costumes out on display. your own little room to put a few small inventions in and to decorate. the pod just feels too......public(plus you should b able to put a few inventions from create mode in it).


-just a side note to any1 who hasn't seen the posts about the idea for goo. it is a material that "grabs" sackboy when he touches it.
ex. imagine sackboy stuck in a spider web.
