Happy Wednesday LBP’ers! Today we got a few cool news nuggets from the world of LittleBigPlanet including tips from MM, in-depth GDC interviews, and some relaxing musical numbers. Have a great week!

Had to search a bit for the in-pod music player (it's under the start menu) and I was expecting it to work alongside the ingame XMB menu. Unfortunatly it doesn't Frown

You can rotate your sackboy by pressing L and R1 when trying to put a sticker or decoration on it, but you have to be in a level, cause it doesn't work in the pod.
Also, the sackboy gets freezed, making easier to put decorations where you want.

GIVE DOMINIC A CROWN!!

-this is exactly what LBP is about. using your imagination to create something new. He was able to create something new outside of the lvl creator.

-also Mm thanks so much for helping us with the character customization!
there r so many new possibilities! i cant wait to see what some people come up with.

Around halloween, there could be a halloween mini pack, that could include an actual jack o lantern item, i spider web object that could trap sackpeople and be a good decoration for creepy levels, also my past idea for the ghost sheet could be included.

The music is pretty sweet. I never liked the silence in the Pod, I wish we could choose one of the game's songs though. Oh well, Mirror's Edge theme will do. :3

The new decoration mode is sooo helpful. Now I'm not discouraged to make a costume with stickers and objects. Thank you MM!

This is a great update, I'm finding new things every second! I love twisting sackboy around, and the fact that he doesn't move has made all my costumes at they're best. Thank you Mm. Lastly, about the "goo" idea, I really don't see LBP and goo going together, it seems... I just don't see your point of view. Eh, if it came out then I would still like it, but for right now, I'm confused.

this new update has patched the Anti color material glitch!!
i tried making the material for my new level im working on but the glitch wont work for me. you guys should try it to see if im right or not. but i sure hope i just did something wrong but it wouldnt work for me.

@FOXY; Hmm, that is weird. I will try it right now. Luckily I have an anti-color block saved.

@Mm; So today, I was thinking of LBP, and I thought of the coolest (my opinion) costume ever. Yes, another DLC idea. Well, I thought of walking around... in cotton! Imagine, seeming as sackboy ripped open. You can be a fluffy cotton sackboy, and while you run/walk around LBP some of that stuffing can float around, as in if its flying away from your body (but you won't lose your costume, you still keep the same shape.) Its just a thought, I don't expect you guys to make it right now and release it, heck, you don't even have to make it. Its just an idea(:

LOL that sounds like part of a Halloween costume idea, but I don't think the particle effect would be put in (the fluff falling off).

So is the Anti-color glitch really gone? I liked those levels. Why was the glitch removed? I don't think it was much of an inconvenience to anyone making a level. It was an awesome glitch!

@Zenyth- did you try the glitch yet? but yeah i have some saved too.

@jgr9; i dont think they would have patched it on purpose, considering it only enhanced creativity. but since they did come out with an update who knows what other bugs they were trying to fix. i dont know too much about patching games though.

there should be an age group for younger and older people playing lbp, like my little bro hes only 7 and he trys so hard to make a good lvl, but gets bad comments from other players that hes no good. all im saying is that i feel bad for all the little kids playing lbp that get picked on by older people.

Has anyone encountered any problems recently? After the Cornish Yarg update? I have ): When I'm playing (online only) my game freezes. It just stops and I can't press the PS button (well, yes I can, but it doesn't work) and I have to turn off my PS3. Anyone had this problem? Or is it just my disk?

i havnt had any... maybe its your ps3.. new update is very cool... but i would really love to see the score numbers getting activated soon(the numbers on the infomoon"Wink beta-people know what i mean.. and i would love to see a good newspage.. where you could read about the latest updates, costumes and maybe todays top 5 levels... noone on my friends list even knew that we now can listen to music in game.. i had to tell them:/ they all love it,. but maybe they would never found out on their own.

Has anyone had the problem with when you try and enter LBP it says your game is corrupt?

It happens ever single time I get on but NOTHING is wrong its just to annoy me. But I'm really wandering if it happens to anyone else?

And has anyone found the so called better character customization?

ya the new " better" character customization is if you try to put stuff on yer back u have to go to the pod well with the update as soon as you get a sticker out your sackboy stands completely still and if you hit R1 Or L1 your sackboy turns to the side and eventually all the way around

The new update is a double edge sword. i love the fact that i can now rotate sack boy to see his back but a couple of the features that made some of my older costumes really cool are now gone. I have a Two Face costume that is holding a coin and for some reason he was able to toss the coin in the air. i also have a Wonder Woman costume and like the Two Face she can twirl her lasso. Now they cant do it anymore. Last, why get rid of anti-color glitch? That was a cool glitch.

i have some realy cool ideas for costumes, for example: i was thinking like a band pack that gives you different costume instruments such as a guitar, a microphone, a piano that hangs from your neck, drum sticks, and any other instruments that you can think of. maybe a music starter pack like an item that has a piston that makes a perfect beat for the music while moving across the music bar. you could mabey make some guitar hero costumes, such as axel steel. you could make some guitar hero stickers like the logo or some people from the game or objects such as some amps that amplifys the sound or a stage with lazer lights.

and completely off topic there has been a coruption in my data when my little bro got the update first. maybe you could fix that problem.

Heh actually what's on topic, is the data corruption. And your suggestion was ruined by the Guitar Hero ideas, because it's not an official Sony Playstation 3 release it will never happen.
However I love your idea of instruments.

Also I love that they've fixed some glitches, like the anti colour. As cool as it might be it's labeled as a glitch, not a trick. Glitches are to be fixed by any serious company. If they incorporate it into the game somehow they might even make it more flexible and easy to work with; so it's not a bad thing. It's progress.

really?.....REALLY?...let me tell you something, for a game that is supposed to let me do ANYTHING they aren't letting me do much, and i think that's a retarded idea to fix these great glitches, if anything if you plan on fixin them then at least release them later as official add-ons or something but seriously don't delete them off the face of the earth because we all love these glitches, and if you do remove them im scared of seeing what's gonna happen to stages that already have the glitch on them, fear they might turn into ****** levels instantly and the great artists who put time and dedication into their work will be all for naught

i actually preferred the anti-color glitch and the alternate materials glitch. i hope you are right and they rerelease it as DLC because it opened a whole new world of possibilities. i had a couple of ideas for lvls where i wanted to use those glitches but unfortunately they are now gone.

Ohk, Shadowcrazy, you need to relax(: First of all, what if that anti-color glitch did more than just made levels look cool? What if that glitch actually made problems with that system? Hmm? honestly guys and gals, just try and look at the big picture. not just with this glitch but with everything. its not YOUR game. its OUR game. and even more technical its Mm's game. i know they do listen to us. so if you have ideas or requests kindly state them then step back and let them work.

Guys, you clearly don't know the definition of a glitch. A good glitch.. ha, that's an oxymoron. A glitch is a short-lived fault in a system. In video games, a glitch is a programming error which results in behavior not intended by the programmers. Glitches may include incorrectly displayed graphics, collision detection errors, game-freezing or crashes, sound issues, and others. Some glitches are potentially dangerous to the game save data.

MissingNo was a cool bug in Pokemon Blue and Red too... until it screwed up your game completely.

Bugs need to be fixed.

SSR2 I belive that what you mean as the unknown device in the AND tutorial is not an emitter but the camera tool but from the angle its filmed at appears as to be a weird emitter but i dont think it is just the camera tool.

Ok, I just ran the latest update...aaand it erased my save file. All my trophies are still registering, all my dlc seems to be there, but I have none of the textures, stickers or outfits I had collected. And when the game started up after the update install I was back at the beginning of the game—the intro section with the credits. So, it looks like I'm basically starting the game over from scratch. This happen to anyone else? Anyone know how I can restore?

That makes me sad Gritty Frown I really missed out on great content from what I know of is that the Valentine pack and Festive pack had some really good decorations instead of just stickers and costumes :_( I hope MM would consider it......

Anyone here download the new creator pack yet? If so did it add anything for you? I downloaded it and installed itr just abit ago, but whenI went to go check it out I didn't have any of the new features. Plus after this last patch some of my custom made costumes are there, but invisible good thing I labled them.

Extremely good job to Mm for building such a great creator pack, its so awesome(: And the levels that come with it are unique. I can't wait to see new levels with the new tools you made. Also, finally I have my Heavenly Sword pack(:

Hah I think most of us agree on the glitch thing now. It's a great thing they're fixing it. I just wanted to point out, in regards to this statement "at least release them later as official add-ons or something", that you have no idea what they're planing. Nether do I. And like I said, if they released a silhouette thing with the lightning options it would only affect the render method, making "anti colour" much more flexible and easier to work with, and with the new light switching options you'd be able to exit and enter it or even change fog colour at will. Much better then anti colour.

The new creator pack is awesome indeed!
has anyone else flown the jetpacks ALL the way to the top? Zenyth- and I did. you all should check it out. i just thought it was entertaining.
i just wish that they gave you the Backdrop that they have in the creator pack levels. it was pretty neat. but i am definitely not complaining the Pack is amazing.

Foxy the only problem I have (it may be dumb for others) is that the jetpack has no radius option and the big X that cancels out any thing that the sackboy/girl is holding. you cant hide that anywhere. But yes MM you guys are hardcore! Also I would like to be able to change the color of the light that is below the paintinator,jetpack,Big X that would be cool if not thats cool too haha.

I've never really checked but can you make the power up canceler invisible? If not you should be able to. It would help make it look a bit better.

silencer775 you are right. it would be nice to make it invisible or something. the only thing i can think of would be to hide them behind a thing wall of some sort. and depending on how big the "area of cancellation" would be you could place multiple X's behind the wall. just an idea. hopefully that at least made sense haha
but it is still an improvement from the tethered jetpacks. im also glad they still let you use them WITH the new jetpacks.
